Cross Creativity
Slovenian creatives presented themselves to an international audience at the Cross Creativity event in Milan
The Cross Creativity international event took place as part of the CCAlps (Creative Companies in the Alps Region) project (whose project partner is also the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region – RDA LUR) in Milan on 19 and 20 June 2014. The focus of the event was on innovation, creativity and development of startup culture.
The Programme included presentations of business ideas and hubs to foreign investors from Europe and the USA. At the same time, various workshops, meetings with investors, presentations of calls for submission for startup companies, as well as motivational speeches by recognized and successful entrepreneurs, such as investor Evan Nisselson, LDV Capital, were held. In the open outside space, an exhibition of startups was organized, where entrepreneurs and creatives had the opportunity to network.
Slovenian representatives also presented themselves to the international public at the event.
Tjaša Kermavnar presented the “I Bow to No-One” project, whose conceptual draft was produced as part of the Creative Camps CCAlps project. This is a project dealing with arthritis, which is taking place in an interdisciplinary team in collaboration with the Rheuma Association of Slovenia and the Pekinpah Association. The project results will be presented as part of the World Arthritis Day on 12 October 2014.
Zavod Stratosfera presented the “Great Games” project, selected on the basis of an international public call by CCAlps.
The representatives of Service Design Slovenia, Ana Bekš and Marko Horvat presented the functioning of the hub to the investors and attended the meeting intended for all hubs from all over Europe together with mag. Tina Pezdirc Nograšek, representative of RDA LUR/RCKE. The aim of the meeting was to provide viewpoints on the creation of an international network of hubs as part of a new European project. In fact, the more visible creative hubs in Ljubljana as well as the developed new services were identified as part of the CCAlps project. This is also what lead Service Design Slovenia toattend the event in Milan.
Marco Di Norcia also presented his Fusedrops project to investors and other participants at the event. Marco developed the Fusedrops project together with Ethan Grant and other colleagues as part of the CupCake project, which RDA LUR joined last year.
