‘DESIGNING AN AGENDA OR HOW TO AVOID SOLVING PROBLEMS THAT ARE NOT THEM’
Service and information design in the field of health and sustainable transport
Creative Camp Ljubljana is a series of events organized by the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region within the European project “CCAlps” and intended to promote and educate in the field of creative industries and promote the development of creative economy in the Ljubljana urban region.
The essence of successful business of service organizations are quality services that enable the achievement of a high level of user satisfaction. With quality services, organizations can save time and money, use human resources efficiently, and improve work processes. Many international public and private organizations are already effectively using service and information design methods to thoughtfully develop new and transform existing services.
At the symposium of service and information design on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, the methods of service and information design were introduced by Barbara Predan (ALUO, Pekinpah Association) and Petra Černe Oven (ALUO, Pekinpah Association). Their lecture was followed by presentations by internationally renowned lecturers and service design practitioners: Anne Meroni (Politecnico di Milano, Italy), Reim Rönnholm (Palmu Inc., Finland) and Emma Barrett (The Social Innovation Lab for Kent (SILK), UK). spoke about international trends, business opportunities for service designers and the benefits of using service design in public institutions and private companies.
On 11 and 12 April 2013, two-day workshops on service and information design on services in health care and sustainable transport were held under the guidance of service and information design experts dr. Barbara Predan (Pekinpah Society, ALUO) and dr. Petre Black Aries (Pekinpah Society, ALUO). The intensive work process took place in interdisciplinary groups, which through various phases of creative work designed integrated service solutions that bring benefits to users and providers.

Using service and information design methods, the workshop participants developed conceptual solutions for services that can improve the quality of life of patients, the treatment of patients and the work of doctors and other stakeholders in health care.
Sustainable transport in Ljubljana and the region, 12 April 2013
At the workshop, the participants designed services for quality sustainable transport of residents and visitors to the city and the region.
The best solutions created in the workshops will be presented on 27 June 2013 at an exhibition of conceptual designs and in a new book on information and service design.
